Werroform: Where Work Meets Family

Demonstrating its deep commitment to fostering a strong sense of community and belonging, we hosted a special "Open Door" event, inviting employees and their families to Jaama 32 to experience a day of connection and shared values.

The event began with a warm welcome from the CEO, who emphasized the vital role families play in supporting the company’s success. In his opening remarks, he introduced the management team and shared insights into the company’s vision, goals, and strategic direction. Guests were then taken on a guided tour of the factory premises, offering a behind-the-scenes look at daily operations. Following the tour, attendees enjoyed a relaxed outdoor gathering with a grill, buffet, and refreshments. It was heartening to see such strong attendance of around 80 person, with nearly half of the guests being enthusiastic and energetic kids of all ages.

The open door event served as a reminder that Werroform is more than just a workplace and people are more than just employees — they are part of a bigger picture. This evening was a small way to show our gratitude and to strengthen the bonds that make our Jaama 32 workplaces meaningful. With initiatives like this, our company continues to build a workplace that values openness, and the people who make everything possible — both inside and outside the office. It was a way of reflecting the company’s open-door philosophy and inclusive culture..

JAAMA 32 ENERGIE-STATION

We've transformed the electrical substation on our premises with a mural by Võru artist Seifo. The artwork explores the human relationship with nature, emphasizing the importance of forests and urging us to manage them wisely. It warns against exploiting nature for short-term gain, reminding us of the lasting harm it can cause.

The mural uses four contrasting seasonal scenes to highlight the passage of time and the urgency to act before it’s too late:

  • Summer  shows a desolate field of stumps, the result of greed masked by illusions of abundance.
  • Autumn  portrays a lone tree symbolizing loss and the emptiness of short-term profits at the cost of the environment.
  • Winter  evokes despair and emptiness, yet a bare tree holds life and resilience.
  • Spring  represents renewal, hope, and the return to caring for nature.

The artpiece reminds us to learn from the past and build a future in harmony with the environment. Nature and climate are inseparable from our lives—true happiness comes from valuing and protecting both.

From Võru to Vienna - vision, physics and commitment

As proof of how determination and cooperation create meaningful changes both at home and abroad, a landmark product has been launched into production at Werroform in the city of Võru - the Werrocube. An external heat exchanger based on Swiss engineering technology, which development, refinement, and production have been made possible through the ingenuity of local specialists and international cooperation. It is not merely a device, but a step into the future - a solution that combines efficiency and a sustainable mindset.

The first energy cubes in Estonia were put into use when renewing the heating solution for our company's production and office buildings at Jaama 32, Võru in the beginning of this year. This is how a well-thought-out and meaningful innovation began - based on local practical needs and combined knowledge. Today, the energy cubes that are leaving production are moving to major European cities including Switzerland, where the engineering idea originally came from.

June 2025 was an important milestone in the development of our new product category: two heat exchangers manufactured at our Võru factory were shipped to the heart of Vienna, where they are used to change the heating solution of a residential building from gas to climate cautions solution. The aim of the energy cubes as heat exchangers was to reduce the environmental impact of the previous system and lower the noise level in the urban environment - all for the benefit of people and nature. This marks Werrocube’s first step toward Europe, with a number of similar orders scheduled for the coming months.

Our goal is also to support the homes and communities of Võru County - we want world-class heating solutions to reach the very place where they are produced. From Võru to Võru County - not only for export, but from our own people to our own region. We offer similar solutions in our hometown and across home country, contributing to the improvement of the quality of life and the environment we live in.

In-House Sound Test Lab for Ready Element Testing.

In a significant leap forward for innovation and quality assurance, Werroform has officially launched a unique sound test laboratory integrated directly into its production facility. This new lab is the first of its kind in Estonia, specifically designed for testing fully finished construction elements on-site.

Our lab allows to conduct precise, real-time sound performance evaluations of its building elements. By bringing the testing process under one roof, the company gains full control over the quality and performance of its products, ensuring they meet the highest acoustic standards before leaving the factory floor.

It gives Werroform the ability to innovate faster, ensure quality and to simulate real-life conditions, enabling engineers to assess how elements perform in actual buildings. This kind of testing ensures that products are not only compliant with regulations, but also meet the increasingly high expectations of end users, underlining its commitment to sustainability, quality, and innovation.

Minister for Economic Affairs and Industry visits Werroform.

Erkki Keldo, Minister of Economic Affairs and Industry, visited Werroform with Parlamentarians and other guests. CEO Bernhard Wallner and one of the owners – Jon Ritter introduced the guests to the company's ideology, production and development activities and future plans. All Smart elements were seen in production, the latest of which were the new Smart Facades and Smart Brick wooden building blocks.

In terms of development activities, our model apartments, which we have built in a separate production building, were visited. In such way, we were able to demonstrate that we have dedicated a third of the area used by Werroform purely to testing and R&D. Last week, we completed our own sound test room, which did not exist in Estonia before. To ensure sufficient quality, we test the sound isolation of our construction elements there and receive quick feedback on prototypes with immediate measurements.

The most important topic discussed was changing heating solutions in apartment buildings. We were able to show the modernized heating solution of Jaama 32 and the proposed novel solutions in standard Estonian apartment buildings. For such projects throughout Europe, we offer the innovative Werrocube, designed in Switzerland and manufactured in Võru, which is a sustainable and environmentally friendly external heat exchanger for heating and cooling of buildings.

European patent registration.

We have filed for patent registration of our Smart Floor module and solution at European Patent Office with the application number EP25178278.5.

Traditional floor systems in building construction typically rely on in-situ cast concrete slabs. Those floors often require significant amounts of steel reinforcement and temporary formwork, resulting in increased material use, construction time, and carbon footprint. Our SmartFloor can provide a simple and modular structure, comprising a rib and a base, for building floors. Such solution can facilitate prefabrication, including the possibility to assemble multiple floor modules into larger  structures, thereby reducing on-site construction time and labor. The use of wood materials can make the floor module lightweight and environmentally friendly, while providing sufficient structural performance for use in floor systems.

Shareholder of Werroform, Jon Ritter, explains the paradigm shift

To ensure that design issues are clarified in the necessary depth right from the start, the manufacturer must now be integrated into the planning process from the beginning and not only determined during the tendering phase. This allows planning to be optimized in a goal-oriented manner according to the precise specifications of a product or system.

The producer of timber building materials must be integrated at the beginning of the planning process. Jon Ritter has invested in Werroform in order to achieve this in the field of timber construction. This is how we manage to increase quality and reduce costs.

New product development from  WERROFORM.

We are developing and growing: On the morning of January 15th, a new product was completed at the Werroform factory: a wall panel with a window. The panel was under pressure in a vacuum press the night before, and in the morning, our team received the final prototype product. This is the first product with window opening made from CLT material (cross-laminated timber) in our factory. The plan is to produce a few more prototypes and send them to Taltech laboratories for testing. If the product successfully passes durability tests, it will go into production, and we will be able to offer a product that is easily installed on construction sites. The product uses natural materials, which ensure a healthy indoor climate in the apartments built from them.

New production technology at WERROFORM.

On October 3, Werroform introduced a new production technology, thanks to which a new wooden wall can be completed with only two layers. It is a previously produced wall, which with the help of the new technology would be as much as 4 cm thinner. For example, in case of a 3-story apartment building, one would gain a total of 12 square meters of additional space. In Europe, 1 square meter of living space equals to 3.000 – 6.000 EUR, which in this case equals to 36 – 72.000,- EUR of additional income. You won't find a better offer on this market at the moment.
